Our Mission

The Student Marketing Association's goal is to encourage and embrace students of diverse perspectives to develop sound thinking in marketing theory and more exact knowledge and definition of marketing principles.

Our Commitment to You

We like to innovate, ideate and develop future business leaders of the world. We provide value beyond classrooms and facilitate networking opportunities for William and Mary Students. We do this through our four pillars of services:

Inviting speakers to campus from top companies around the country and world. These individuals speak on what marketing and sales means in their organizations and how you can apply your classroom skillset in the marketplace through internships and during your career. This setting allows you to ask them stimulating questions and build your personal network.

Relationships, relationships, relationships. Ask any Fortune 500 executive and they’ll explain to you the importance of building a strong network. We connect you with alumni and are in the process of building a new tool to allow you to more easily locate alumni at companies and in industries you care about.

Pillar 1

We love to have fun too! We host value oriented  events critiquing Super Bowl ads and events examining students’ summer internships. You’ll also get communications from us on internship opportunities through Executive Partners and alumni. This is yet another tool to build your knowledge base in marketing.

Pillar 2

Pillar 3

Pillar 4

Lets face it; at the end of the day we’re all here to land our dream job. We provide workshops and career counseling to help you on your path to graduation. We have partnered with the Career Center to co-sponsor major events including The Marketing Symposium in the spring which gives you exposure to companies and the techniques to create a winning recipe as you take on the job search process. We do a range of other career-oriented events including an exploration event of the career paths in marketing hosted by our Executive Partners and training on how to craft the perfect elevator pitch.
